The thin sheet of plastic is coated with a metallic reflector known as a metalized polyethylene, which reflects ups to 90% of radiated heat. The design of the space blanket helps reduce the loss of heat in a person’s body due to thermal radiation, evaporation, or convection. The blanket was first developed by NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in 1964. Great for maintaining temperature during a heated stone massage.<\/p>\n
